Alexis has a career spanning over 28 years in various business sectors. He has held C-suite positions in large and medium size organizations. Starting his career with an accountancy firm in the City of London where he obtained his ACA qualification and was heavily involved in M&A activity. Moving back to Cyprus eight years later to take over as CFO of the country’s largest media group, with operations spanning from a free to air TV station, several radio stations, magazines, newspapers, and the island’s first online news portal.

Ten years on, he took over as CEO of the group’s TV Station and from that position he was instrumental in the country’s transition from analog to digital TV through the set-up of the island’s first and only to date DTT platform, on the board of which he served as a non-exec director for several years. Five years later, with a number of other professionals, he established one of Cyprus’s first Electronic Money Institutions, licenced by the Central Bank of Cyprus, and on whose Board he served as Finance Director for two years.

In parallel, he served as CFO to an electronic banking software company of the same group. He currently serves on the board of Directors of Grant Thornton Blockchain Cyprus, heading the firm’s local DLT operations, with its most recent achievement, becoming one of VeChain’s Authority Masternodes. Alexis has for the last two years been the CEO of Block.co, a University of Nicosia spin-off, commercializing a BaaS platform, with clients so far from various corners of the globe. Alexis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Economics and Accountancy from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Digital Currencies and Blockchain Technology from the University of Nicosia, and is a Fellow Member of the ICAEW. He also holds a number of no-exec directorships.
