The Decentralized Chapters Community, cordially invites you to the upcoming free webinar, titled:
Central Banks and Digital Currencies
22 May 2020 | 18:00 (GMT +3)
The public can hold central bank money in the form of banknotes but at the moment, only banks and certain other financial institutions can hold electronic central bank money.
A Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) would be an electronic form of central bank money that could be more widely used by households and businesses to make payments and store value.
The webinar will introduce CBDCs and outline the current status of their development (e.g. China’s DC/EP and Sweden’s e-krona).
The discussion will then continue on how CBDCs will create a new form of risk-free money and a wholly new infrastructure to support add-on innovations, like programmable money, smart contracts and nano payments (including machine-to-machine transactions)
