Decentralized Learning Series 2020 – 2021

As the world goes online, Decentralized 2020 is adapting its format to continue the robust discussion surrounding the critical next steps in our decentralized future. World’s premier conference on blockchain and digital currencies has returned for a fourth year, this time reformatted as a series of dynamic webinars focused on learning.

The Decentralized Learning Series (DLS) was launched on 11 November 2020, with a discussion between Scott Stornetta (Partner and Chief Scientist, Yugen Partners) and Antonis Polemitis (CEO, University of Nicosia), as well as a specialised Ripple Workshop on the RippleX open-source platform. The first event has attracted the interest of the vibrant blockchain community, 1000+ registrants from 100+ countries.

The second DLS event will take place on 15 December 2020 focusing on the VeChain ToolChain and how blockchain technology can disrupt the healthcare industry by enhancing the patient centricity, as well as improving the communications, trust, and transparency between the healthcare providers and patients. Kyriacos Kokkinos, the Deputy Minister to the President for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Cyprus, will open the event, followed by three talks: (i) “How Grant Thornton will drive blockchain technology adoption in Cyprus” by Alexis Nicolaou (Director, Grant Thornton); (ii) “How blockchain is redefining the domain of e-health” by Dimitris Neocleous (Ecosystem Manager VeChain Europe) and Stelios Yiallouros (CIO of i-Dante); (iii) “The circle of trust in DLT: A focus on data protection and security” by Pantelis Angelides (Director, Risk and Security Consultant, QuadPrime Cyprus Limited) and Anastasios Kareklas (Advocate, Legal Consultant / Data Protection Officer, Koushos Korfiotis Papacharalambous LLC).
