PROGRAM

Time_______ Description
4:00 – 4:30 Transformation of Financial Sector through Blockchain, Dr Theodosis Mourouzis, Managing Partner, Electiconsulting
Abstract: Blockchain is now a well established technology and many big companies and organisations, even governments, started deploying or considering Blockchain to be used across their areas of interest. In this talk we summarise a lot of applications that appeared in the recent years with a more emphasis on the financial services sector, focusing more on DeFi 2.0 applications as well as peripheral services required to support the sector.
4:30 – 5:00 Security and Trust in Financial Services, Prof. Muttukrishnan Rajarajan (Raj), Professor of Security Engineering
Abstract: Covid-19 has accelerated the digital transformation in all industry verticals. With the digital transformation there is an increasing need to have secure, trustworthy and reliable forms of digital identities. In addition, the current data protection regulations expect the data owner to have total control in the way they share any personal data. Traditional identity management techniques have too much reliance on identity providers and are not suitable for user-centric decentralised next generation internet. This talk will discuss the existing identity management architectures and provide a foundation based on the self-sovereign identity which can help to develop a sustainable, greener and decentralised identity management framework. In addition, the talk will highlight new applications, supported by features such as human-centric, privacy-by-design and faster access to next generation online services.
