Dr Larry Sanger
Dr. Sanger is the CIO of Everipedia, the world’s first and largest blockchain encyclopedia project. Best known as co-founder of Wikipedia, he has started and advised many reference and educational websites. Sanger’s Ph.D. is in philosophy, with a specialization in epistemology. With over 3 million unique monthly users and over 6 million wiki articles, Everipedia.org has already surpassed English Wikipedia by content, currently making it the world’s largest English Encyclopedia. Dr. Sanger is passionate about the blockchain’s potential to revolutionize knowledge by providing greater access to information to more people than we’ve ever seen, and strategizing a decentralized network.
Eva Kaili is a Member of the European Parliament, elected in 2014. In her capacity as the Chair of the European Parliament’s Science and Technology Options Assessment body (STOA) she has, been working intensively on promoting innovation as a driving force of the establishment of the European Digital Single Market. She has been particularly active in the fields of blockchain technology, m/eHealth, big data, fintech and cybersecurity. Since her election she has also been very active in the field of taxation, where she has been the Rapporteur of the ECON committee’s annual tax report. As a member of the ECON committee she has been focusing on EU’s financial integration and the management of the financial crisis in the Eurozone. Prior to her position in the European Parliament, she has been elected two times in the Greek Parliament (serving between 2007-2012), with the PanHellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK). She holds a Bachelor degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering, and Postgraduate degree in European Politics. Currently, she is conducting her PhD in International Political Economy.
Mr. Polemitis currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the University of Nicosia (UNIC) and EDEX, as a Board member of EDEX and UNICAF, and as a member of the Council of the University of Nicosia. UNIC serves nearly 12,000 students, along with 6,000 additional students in its affiliated academic institutions. It is the largest university in Cyprus and is the largest English language university in southern Europe.
Mr. Polemitis has two decades of experience in private equity, higher education and software development in New York, as a principal or partner at Ledra Capital, ACG Capital and Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting). He has been a principal or advisor for a broad range of corporate financings in the United States, Europe, Latin America and India, ranging from multi-billion dollar industrial buyouts to early stage venture capital
Mr. Polemitis helped found the world-leading Digital Currency / Blockchain Initiative at the University of Nicosia, co-taught the first university cryptocurrency course in the world, and is regularly quoted in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Wired and other publications as an expert on cryptocurrency issues. His research at Mercer on optimal financing strategy in private equity has been published in Buyouts and cited in the Financial Times Mr. Polemitis holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with highest distinction as a Baker Scholar, and a B.S. in International Studies, Accounting and Computer Information Systems from Indiana University, where he graduated with highest distinction as a Wells and Chancellor’s Scholar.
Tarkowski Tempelhof is an award winning entrepreneur, a crypto activist and writer, living and working in international frontier environments. In the 2000s she built and sold multimillion dollar contracting businesses in Afghanistan and Libya. Her companies conducted pioneering research on governance for the US State Department and Department of Defence. Tarkowski Tempelhof’s aim is to leverage radical technologies and resilient peer-to-peer networks to

Dr. Peter Rizun is a physicist and entrepreneur living in Vancouver, Canada. He is the Chief Scientist for Bitcoin Unlimited, focusing on the development of analytical theory that explains properties and emergent phenomenon of the Bitcoin Network. Peter is also the co-founder and co-managing editor of Ledger, the world’s first peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to cryptocurrency research, published by the University of Pittsburgh. He was the recipient of the $105,000 Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) CGS Doctoral Award and was recognized as a “Leader of Tomorrow” by the Alberta Science and Technology Foundation (ASTech). He holds a B.A.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Calgary.
Anthony Alleyne has been a Blockchain analyst since 2014. He joined the Phore Team in September 2017 and has rapidly risen through the ranks to become Joint Head in early 2018. He has overseen the transition to Phore Blockchain, which sees the organisation move to a more formal structure, incorporating in Gibraltar in March 2018. Alleyne is also Cryptocurrency Advisor to Netvrk, an exciting VR startup, utilising Reg A, asset-backed, SEC infrastructure.
Joshua Scigala is an award winning designer, animator & entrepreneur. He has co- founded 5 technology startups as well as leading large technical teams. He was a pioneer in the sharing economy as well as in the blockchain space. Joshua moved to Berlin in 2012, and with his interest in alternative economies established Vaultoro.com as a co-founder together with his brother Philip Scigala.
Sam is the Chief Revenue Officer of ShipChain Inc., a blockchain technology company redefining the massive transport and logistics industry. As a serial entrepreneur, blockchain advocate/investor, and talent manager, Sam has worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, such as Sony, Fender, Virgin, Universal Music, Ogilvy, Heineken, VISA, and Mercedes. He has also advised international companies and negotiated trade deals on their behalf.
Cherie Aimée is Director of Communications at ShipChain and ranked #6 of the top 100 women in blockchain. Mark has been involved with technology throughout his career. After decades of experience in the television industry he became heavily involved in the startup sector. He is a legal expert on cryptocurrencies and digital currency regulation.
In late 2012, he recognised the potential of digital currency and Blockchain technology. The firm he founded, helped organise and lead blockchain conferences at Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge universities.
Working in conjunction with the Commonwealth Bank, they organised the most significant blockchain event ever held in Australia: the five-day Sydney Blockchain Workshop. Over 40 industry leaders from around the world flew in for the event in 2015. Speakers included: Vitalkek Buterin (founder of Ethereum); Joi Ito (director of MIT Media Lab); and Lawrence Lessig (Harvard law professor and former US Presidential Candidate).
Mark understands the legal, commercial, and the technical aspects of the technology. He has been a lecturer in a masters course on Digital Currency Regulation with the University of Nicosia since the end of 2015. The course has a strong international reputation for pioneering the field of cryptocurrency studies.
Mark was one of the first lawyers in the world to lecture on the technology and its commercial application. He has spoken at numerous national and international conferences.
His knowledge of this cutting-edge technology is built upon a solid commercial foundation. In addition to working as a lawyer in some of Australia’s leading law firms, Mark has been General Counsel for a telecommunications company and a major television company which were both publicly listed.
After founding Adroit Lawyers, Mark has helped dozens of companies turn their ideas into businesses. Many were technology companies focused on disrupting and transforming industry. He understands how to commercialize products and he knows the importance of strong contracts as a business development tool.

Angeliki Dedopoulou is EU Affairs adviser to DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission for the European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) project. Her main focus is the ESCO project and its use in related initiatives, such as the EU Skills Profile for Third Country Nationals, EUROPASS and the Blueprint for sectoral cooperation on skills. Angeliki is also Solutions Team Leader at everis, an NTT Data company. She is an expert for digital solutions in European skills and employment policy. Angeliki studied Political Science and History, Sociology and European governance in Greece, France and Luxembourg. Currently, Angeliki is part of an everis group that aims to analyse the uptake of new solutions and techniques for the labour market. She is leading a proof of concept aimed at ensuring the trust in non-formal and informal learning by using Blockchain technology.
Adam Hayes, CFA is a researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who studies financial technology in society. His work includes several published journal articles on Bitcoin valuation, cryptocurrency networks, and blockchain. Adam also teaches two courses for the UNic MSc program in digital currencies. Before becoming an academic, Adam worked on Wall Street for over 12 years as a derivatives trader and in private wealth management. He also founded a blockchain-related start-up in 2014 using a colored coin scheme to create counterfeit-proof certificates of authenticity for luxury items.
Daniel Pianko is co-founder and managing director at University Ventures. With over a decade of experience in the education industry, Daniel has built a reputation as a trusted education adviser and innovator in student finance, medical education, and postsecondary education. A frequent commentator on higher education, Daniel’s insights have been featured in national media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, TechCrunch, Inside Higher Ed, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Daniel began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, and quickly became intrigued by the potential of leveraging private capital to establish the next generation of socially beneficial education companies. After leaving Goldman, Daniel invested in, founded, advised, or managed a number of education-related businesses that led to the creation of University Ventures. Prior to founding University Ventures, he established a student loan fund, served as chief of staff for the public/private investments in the Philadelphia School District, and worked as a hedge fund analyst. At University Ventures, Daniel leads the firm’s investments in the pioneering Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, University of Nicosia/St. George’s University of London Medical School, Vemo Education, Qubed Education, Examity and Galvanize. He serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including the Board of Trustees of Harlem Village Academies. Dr Spyros Makridakis is a Professor at the University of Nicosia, the director of the Institute For the Future (IFF) and an Emeritus Professor at INSEAD. He has authored, or co-authored, twenty-two books and more than 250 articles. He was the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of Forecasting and the International Journal of Forecasting and is the organizer of the M (Makridakis) Competitions.
Professor George M. Giaglis is Director of the Institute for the Future at the University of Nicosia, as well as a leading expert on blockchain technology and applications and advisor to many blockchain projects and technology start-ups. George has been working on digital currencies and blockchain since 2012, with his main focus being on new forms of industrial organization (programmable smart contracts, decentralized applications and distributed autonomous organizations) and new forms of corporate financing (token economy, crypto-economics and ICOs). He has been one of the first academics to research and teach on blockchain, having: designed the curriculum of the world’s first full academic degree on blockchain (MSc in Digital Currency at the University of Nicosia); led the development of blockchain credentialing technology that has resulted in the first ever publishing of academic certificates on the blockchain; taught on the disruptive innovation potential of blockchain, both at academic programs and in executive seminars worldwide; organized a number of prominent blockchain conferences and events, including Decentralized. Throughout his career, he has published more than 10 books and 150 articles in leading scientific journals and conferences, while he is frequently interviewed by media and invited as keynote speaker or trainer in events across the globe.

Gregor Borosa is one of the first UNIC’s MSc Digital Currency alumnus, with a passionate affinity to Bitcoin, blockchain and beyond. He has a background in computer science and has worked for several years as a lead software engineer in the central bank of Slovenia, working with payment and settlement systems, batch processing and monitoring systems.
Currently, he is freelancing as a consultant-developer and is also an instructor at the University of Nicosia’s MSc program Digital Currency, where he is a lecturer in a course focused on the applications of the blockchain technology and a co-lecturer in the course about programming on the blockchain.

Dimitris Litsikakis holds a BSc in Information Technology from Piraeus University and a MSc in
Project Management from Lancaster University. He worked at IBM UK as a Project Manager

Dr Ian Gauci is a partner at GTG Advocates and Afilexion Alliance. He is engaged primarily in technology law, fintech, regtech, electronic communications, information society, data protection and gaming/gambling, while also focusing on consumer law, competition law, broadcasting law, cyber law, e-commerce, m-commerce, e-health, e-payment, information technology, unfair commercial practices and misleading advertising. Dr Gauci also provides consultancy on legal matters related to blockchain technology, smart contracts, crypto-currencies and ICO/ITO. He has assisted the Maltese Government amongst others on issues dealing with E-Trust certification, the Malta Communications Authority (MCA) on its E-commerce strategy as well as the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). He is also currently one of the strategic advisors appointed by Government on the National Blockchain Strategy Taskforce. Dr Gauci has co-authored the Maltese Electronic Communications Framework and lectures Legal Futures and Technology at the University of Malta.
